Can anyone help, please? I have searched all over the forums, but haven't found any pictures of the very very early stages of pinninng. My friend has a bag that has been fully colonized for a while, and has some extra fluffy pieces of mycelium on the surface now. Soon after he noticed those, he noticed very tiny brown spots on the fluffy pieces. He's waited a couple of days but those haven't developed. He's trying to figure out if he's seeing primordia/pins, or not. The bag is pretty wet inside (you can see some water pressed between the substrate and the plastic), so he's wondering if he's just seeing the mycelium try to escape a waterlogged substrate -- that fluffy myc looks a lot like myc trying to escape a waterlogged cake. He would cut some slits in the bag but he does not currently have a properly humid environment to house the bag to keep the internal humidity up. If you know of any pictures of the very early stages of primordia formation / pinning, please point me to them. Thanks! -------------------- I'm interested in Kombucha cultivation! Send me a kombucha baby, and I'll send you the cost of shipping. I promise to give away at least 5 babies for every baby I receive this way.
