Here's a great sounding recipe for agar that I snagged somewhere in this forum. I'm going to try some tonight. Has anyone here used it and if so what were your experiences with it? For example, did you notice that it promoted more-less rhizomorphs than other formulas etc. This will be used for strain selection, not storage. Potato Flake Agar: 5 grams instant mashed potatos 10 grams dextrose [15ml corn syrup or honey] 10 grams agar 1 gram yeast extract [or any grain flour] <--I'll be substituting this with freshly powdered rye grain. 500 ml water [dung extract works fantasic for pan cyans*] -*To make dung extract take 10-15 grams of fresh or dried dung & boil it in 1 liter of water for 5 minutes or less. -Filter off the solids [coffee filters work great]. Toss the soild in your next substrate & use the dung extract in your culture mediums. -------------------- ![]() Freedom defined is freedom denied. Nighted is better than Google. Please take time to rate 5/5. Thanks!
