The grain jars that I took transfers off the second plate definitely have a rank smell, so I’m pretty sure the area that’s been off colored on all the plates is some kind of mold. I scrapped the very top of the white myc to try and isolate it and this was the result. None of the black dots anymore, but still something in the middle underside. Took some more small scraps off this today in attempt to clean it up even further. I’m wondering if even this white myc could be some kind of mold/bacteria itself?
