For sure.  Part of the reason I opened with Grof's work is that it's more grounded in modern psychology.

Analayo's stuff is fascinating though, and I find the Buddhist cosmological model of psychology helpful for noticing when my mind has strayed into aversion/anger (hell realm), attachment/sensual desire (hungry ghosts), or delusion/ignorance (animal realm).  And his meditation techniques offer antidotes that help me stay balanced.

I find these perspectives and practices helpful while sober, but also while exploring psychedelics.
