Imagine there was a planet or a moon 2000 light years away, and we somehow develop the technology to get a giant telescope to that 2000 light year away planet or moon and point it at the earth, reford whatever it sees on earth, send it back to present day earth, could this in theory help us look back into the past and see the Roman empire and the crucifixion of christ and other events 2000 years ago? If the light from the sun takes 8 minutes to reach earth were looking at the sun o ly just 8 minutes ago even with a telescope on earth, why wouldn't it be any different from putting a giant advanced telescope on a planet 2000 light years from earth to see what happened 2000 years ago?
