Just a quick question...
      04/28/03 02:24 AM

So this friend, of a friend has this little project that he is working on, and he innoculated the cakes mostly on 3/15 but some on 4/12, anywhos, he made a small boo boo by using too much direct heat in the incubation chamber, dried out the bottom portions of some of the cakes, but the colonized part seems to have grown strong.

Until he decides what to do with his little project, he's keeping some of the cakes in gladware containers...

here's a picture of one:

http://www.geocities.com/trifevt/question.jpg (you'll have to copy and paste the url, sorry)

The small little spikes are present on all of his cakes that are in the perlite moistened gladware... they have no dark center or anything, and dont seem like pins...

gets about 2-3 hours of sunlight a day, about 70-74 degrees temperature... anyone have any idea what this could be? if it's normal, what else could he do, or modify to help induce pinning?

thanks in advance!
