From a hardware store? We can source cheap buckets in Australia for 85c, I'm not sure if you can get such cheap buckets in your neck of the woods. How many days is "the other day"? If your bucket's the same dimensions, couldn't you just slide the material out into the new bucket if it's a solid mass? If it's not, transferring shouldn't be a problem anyway as the mycelium will regrow after transfer. I'm no expert, but I can't see the problem doing such. The alternatives are: 1. Seal your existing holes and cut new ones but that just seems like too much hard work! 2. Remove some of your bulk substrate to allow placement of your casing layer, 3. Not even use a casing, but I'd consider that an absolute last resort. As I said, I'm not an expert but am a scientist. Everything I say is theroretical but could provide the answer you seek.
