has anyone cold-shocked pans casing?

so a friend is getting pretty close to getting these to pin, well she has two pins already in one container, but the newer container still has aggressive mycelium growth. she was wondering if i could ask you fellas if she should put the second container with the fast growing mycelium in the fridge for a day or two to try and initiate pinning? this is her first attempt at these critters, and isn't as experienced as some of you master cultivators :smile:
