And in theory, correcting the pH by feeding even lower makes sense, but I think there's some reasons not to. Otherwise why not drop like 6 drops of hcl in a liter and feed them at 1.2 pH yaknow? I think it'll be better to flush them with tap/distilled/RO until neutral and then feed at the proper pH. That's part of the reason why I think your ppm must be high if your feeding input isn't having much effect. For example there could be 5x more ppm in the pot than what you're feeding at, so the feed pH is only having a fifth of the expected impact. If you flush all that ppm out, then the media can be immediately set to the next input pH.
