But, there is still a huge amount of genetic diversity within one of those strands. The way I look at it is: you don't even know what genetics you're 'losing' on agar. Focus should be on growing a clean culture then start chasing desirable genetics via cloning when you can see what you're dealing with (fruits). There is definitely merit in keeping as much diversity as possible but in my opinion when struggling to clean a culture diversity is less important than cleanliness -------------------- 5318008
