I've struggled to get a lot of good rhizo growth. Usually I get tomentose even if it's clean. That's why I've lowered it down to 1.2% nutes. On most of my cultures the yeast caused super fluffy growth. The lower nutes helped, but also it seemed to get better as I kept transferring, even though I felt more transfers weren't necessary. I don't know if any of that will help you, but good luck in your agar adventures.
