I use nutritional yeast in a normal LME mixture. Before using yeast I was getting weak and transparent growth on agar. Cultures would perform perfectly fine on grain and when spawned, but agar growth wasn't great. It was annoying but I dealt with it for a long time. Since adding 1g of NY on a recommendation, I'm getting what I would consider vastly more robust growth. The mycelium is a brighter white, more dense, and I seem to get rhizomorphic cultures more. My stance on it is that if you are having issues with weak, whispy, or transparent growth, you should definitely give it a shot. I'm not the only person who has had this experience. --------------------
