Quote: Your salvia trip reminded me of something I first heard from one of the Insight meditation teachers (Jack Kornfield). Thoughts think themselves. What this means is that when the attachment to the voice in our head being 'my voice' isn't there, thoughts are more like these things that bubble up without a sense of ownership. And in my personal experience, they don't even sound like me when this attachment is gone. Could sound like a man and a woman having a conversation about me, for example. Actually, the day after I took some Tamp fruits (earlier this week), I was in a fight with my girlfriend. Voices in my head, not in my voice, kept reminding me how good she is to me. While the voices in my head, that were in my voice, were the ones all pissed off at her ("my" wounded ego.) This was the day after tripping which was really interesting to me. Fruits still working their magic. -------------------- Listen to the silence behind the engines' noise. Jesus, Sweets, listen. Hear it? It's a love song. For whom? You are loved. ~ David Foster Wallace, Westward the Course of Empire Takes Its Way
