Depends on your climate. Most people in the US/Canada just keep them on a shelf at room temp. I have had more slants go bad because it was too cold than a single plate go bacterial because the room was too warm. Also pics of your agar will be much more beneficial than trying to describe it in words. I have had 4th - 8th transfers go bad/stall on grain so I would suggest taking the time to make sure it is clean. Side note: saw your post the other day, I hope you are feeling better and it takes some nuts to own up to shit. Hope things are looking up.
