Quote: You're gucci mayne. I've yet to see contamination on any agar. I'd love to know how to fuck these up, ya kno? :P Two months ago I'd never bothered with agar and clicked on the link in JHOVA's signature. (Thank you JHOVA/Pasty - I know I'm not the easiest person to like, but I appreciate it.) Now I have my first isolates and this next week, clones. Also have 3 tubs from agar>LC>wbs>cvg that dominated the CVG, clearly very healthy mycelium/aggressive. When I spawn tubs I do it with a new-found confidence that I won't see the mean green or cobweb. Sterile technique with agar and proper pasteurization of substrates are paramount in knocking out vectors for failure. Done maybe 60 plates so far, not a hiccup besides learning the easy procedure/s in the SAB. I invested in agar the "convenient, more expensive way" and still only spent like 75$ for everything. I'd regret it if I didn't plan on advancing further - one could go their entire life without touching a real petri dish or pre-mixed agar and still produce the same results as any professional when using the right techniques. This TEK resulted in sending me to pour agar within two months, and now I'm sitting here like "Why even bother with pour teks except for proven isolates and clones?" The awesomeness just keeps on coming. I don't even think I need a flowhood anymore.
