dirtnasty, sounds like you are asking if shrooms will grow off of agar without putting spores to them. also sounds like you need to do a little reading. shrooms will not grow off of un inoculated agar. you must put spores to agar. room temperature is fine. around 70 degrees Fahrenheit. a SAB is a still air box. any box that you cut arm holes in will do. most folks use a clear storage tote. you'll have to wait anywhere between a week and a month for spores to germinate on agar. this will not be the time frame for any fruit bodies to grow. that's just for the spores to start making myc. and as tiger said, you want get any kind of yield from an agar plate, only a little something to clone. --------------------
