Thanks for the info. The spores are GT, PB, and Camb. I thought the point of Agar was to use it as a more concentrated medium to encourage mycelial growth with the starch and some sugar vs the vermiculite in the cakes. More simple, readily absorbed nutrients in the agar vs the verm. I didn't think of the decreasing contaminates factor. That makes sense. Thanks for the explanation. I will try to put up some pics tomorrow. In the interim, how long, on average, does it take for a the agar to become completely penetrated with mycelium? (I am thinking of starting from scratch if I need to) Thanks again for any info. This forum is an amazing resource!
