I reinstalled fallout 4 specifically to play the frost mod. Its the new "dust" full conversion survival mod. Its brutal as fuck. Hard as hell, but a lot of fun and IMO a lot more true to how survival would be in the fallout universe. It makes damage way way way more severe. A headshot mostly kills anyone in a single hit, including you. No more tanking up in uber combat armor and taking massive amounts of bullets and surviving. It also adds in massive stat penalties as you get hungry and starve, dehydrate from lack of water, get heavily irradiated. Ammo is a lot more scarce. NPCs now also have proper accuracy for their 'level' and can suffer radiation damage, etc. The outside world is heavily irradiated as well and you need to wear a gas mask or you take constant rad damage. There are also rad storms that are ramped up. Some make the outside radiation just constantly higher where even a gas mask and high rad resistant gear wont totally stop it, others are only when lightning strikes but then it will be huge amounts of rads hitting during that time. Stimpacks, Radaway, Rad-X, etc are all way more rare to find and harder to craft. the timeline for it is like 5 or 10 years after the bombs dropped, so a few hundred years before the normal vanilla FO4 game takes place. All the NPC's for the main game have been removed or renamed and there are no real 'quests'. Its just survival. The main map of course is the same in design but encounters are changed, a lot of stuff is in different places or removed. Crafting has more options since cooking and purifying water is required and drug use also is fairly needed for survival. Settlements are heavily nerfed and are more just to make personal bases instead of having actual settlers. There is a bunch of new cells added to the game. The original 'underground subway' starting area for this mod has something like 23 new large cells ("inside areas where you load screen to get into them from the outside) including a full NPC city thats friendly. 6 factions, mostly all hostile. You don't ever join one to my knowledge. Most normal people on the surface are just called 'survivors' and they range from hostile on sight, to only when you go in their terrirtory, or get to close to them, to friendly. Ghouls are way stronger. They are more like zombies where you NEED to headshot them to kill em. Any other damage barely effects them and they regen health super fast. A lot of the creatures were completely changed to be lore friendly. For example there are no mirelurks yet, just little "mutcrabs" that look sort of like sandcrabs but bigger. Still only the side of a football or so, but they are poisonous and will fuck you up if they hit you even once. Radroaches are tiny, some are even SUPER tiny, but they are definitely starting to grow and mutate into what they will become in the main game a few hundred years later. deathclaws are still in the game as is, because lore-wise they were invented during the great war. There are wild dogs and wolves now that do massive damage. Oh and since its survival you can't save anywhere except when you sleep in a bed or sleeping bag, no fast travel. I died at least 20 times before I even found a damn sleeping bag to rest in and an untold number of times after that lolol. So much so that I rage quit. You definitely have to run a lot more instead of fight, or be way way way more careful how you do fight if you go about it. -------------------- Nothing says love like grannies prolapsed anus! quote]Urb said: I know...
