Ok. ![]() I read once that during the filming of the tunnel scene, the only person in the cast to really know what to expect was Gene Wilder, everyone else had scripts that just said "boat enters tunnel" or something. And then all the freaky stuff starts to happen, and the reactions you see are more genuine because none of the kids knew what was going on. Now, I'm not sure how that might work logistically though. The tunnel they filmed in was probably pretty short & the scene was made by making many takes and rearranging the set. So it could be a bogus anecdote, but I like when shit like that happens during the filming of a movie. When a director knows how to get the best reactions out of their actors.
