why do my spores from ms syringes take so long to germinate(5-6 days) on agar and only a few of the plates germinate at all. I'm using only ELME and agar agar. Once mycelium is live everything is normal but germinating spores, no. I'm only using one drop (some 2). I can germinate in LC or grain fine but then i transfer that to agar so it's a step backwards. Anyone else? or is this normal? I've used syringes from two different sources. How much solution do you dump out to cool needle before inoculating? I wait til i see two drops after the sizzle. Enough? Maybe i need to just make my own prints but i'm lazy (so i just bought them... well syringes actually). I just want to see if i can get more variety and better genetics from ms than clones. -------------------- Edited by tombosley8 (08/24/14 08:58 PM)
