Quote: should one hydrate the verm to field capacity before sprinkling on, or leave dry as one would with a cake roll? if you're using a verm casing it shouldn't be dry, that's obvious. it's on the top so it won't fall off. Quote: Quote: Do you (or anyone) have any experience with using the LC style - brass insert stuffed with poly - and a SHIP type lid on their grains? Dumb maneuver or sheer genius? I'm sure it would work or you could save yourself the money and do some reading and figure out why that's not the best solution. Quote: Quote: Curious about trying a variation and would like someone with experience to tell me if I'm about to fuck up royally. could one simply pour water into the jars and strain off before adding to the sub? I don't trust my screen to hold all 5 quarts and the spawn is soooo precious. How dry should it be after draining or am I over thinking moisture levels at this point? The point of dunking the grains, As frank said, are to hydrate them why would you dry them off after dunking them. if you don't trust your screen find a screen you trust or use some ingenuity and figure out how could I get my grains wet and then discard the excess water without spilling them on the floor, my 3rd grade science project was harder than the solution to that problem. --------------------
