If enough states legalize, this would start tension between the federal government and state governments, who's relationship is already tense as it is. I agree, stoppping local police from enforcing federal law does not stop DEA raids. but the DEA is only so big. If enough states take action, the federal government would be overwhelmed, which it already is. Federal laws are incredibly difficult to change, especially something like this that involves so many special interest groups. But I think soon we're going to start seeing massive legalization Massachusetts just put up a bill for the legalization, that's 2 states already.
