“Ras·Ris·ing" /räsˈrīziNG/: Pronoun Meaning: 1. pseudonym stemming from an ascribed spiritual name A) Ras: an Ethiopian king, prince, or feudal lord. The first part being the spiritual name shortened from its full form (Rastafari) and in this case and can be taken to be simply as a name. B) Rising: going up, increasing, or sloping upward, move from a lower position to a higher one; come or go up, increase in number, size, amount, or quality, approaching (a specified age), or get up from lying, sitting, or kneeling. Denotes one of several things depending the on the current aims/goals or otherwise ascribed by Ras himself. Whether it be, spiritually, emotionally, rationally, culturally, economically, socially, educationally, psychologically, philosophically, et al, in nature. Whatever be the case its the end goal or need to move from a state of "lessness" to one which is greater in ascribed value. Simply put, Rising denotes a term of infinite growth from a state of being in any of the aforementioned aspects of humanness. To never revert or stagnate. An ever perpetual cycle of self-awareness and self-growth which in turn is the motivation to make oneself better. Etymology: Rising: Old English rīsan ‘make an attack,’ ‘wake, get out of bed,’ of Germanic origin; related to Dutch rijzen and German reisen. Ras: from Amharic rās ‘head.’
