Problems in the fruiting dept.

So, I'm stuck.
I have 5 1-pint jars completely colonized with a beautiful white layer, they're all Z-Strain. Here's the setup:

The temperature stays between 78-82 degrees F at all times.
The humidity ranges from 88-100 at all times.
I fan it several times a day thoroughly.
I spray it several times a day.
Cakes are perfectly white all over.
Everything's sterile.
It has been around 5-6 days and I don't even see a pin, what in the hell could be wrong?!
Thanks much!

I'd give it two weeks before starting to worry. Btw Paper, does having 1 pint cakes instead of 1/2 pint give heavier yield or is there no reason you chose 1 over 1/2?

Pint would hold more nutrients than half-pint does, so yes, it would give higher yield if you uses pint instead of half-pint.

I like to use a whole pint for the reasons bloodhound said, and plus, if you decide to case, you've got more TO case. Plus, for me, it's somewhat traditional too .
I honestly find that pints yield much more than half's do and tend to be much healthier.

Because they are half pint cakes, I would bet that they'd use up moisture pretty fast. If I were you I'd make a pile of verm on top of each cake and keep it hydrated.

Yes, it works well for cubes since they are 90% water. They need all the moisture they can get.

I've never rolled in vermiculite, I've always just let the cakes go. I don't see why they wouldn't stay good and hydrated if they're in an enclosed environment at about 88-100% humidity.

It's now day #10 of fruiting and still nothing. I've had 1 single small pin for about 4-5 days now and it isn't growing. I didn't dunk these cakes or roll them, but I've maintained 100 percent humidity and great temperature. I am confused . . .

I waited for the jars to fully colonize, prepared the the chamber, got humidity and temp right, then put 'em in there.
Is it too late to dunk/roll them?

after 100% colizination leave them in the jar [incubator] for a week (might even pin in the jar). I dont think its every to late, and you only have 1 pin any way? id do it.
