im assuming its some sort of epiphyte (jungle cacti) try googling that. epiphytes need different care than desert cacti

i had a freaking HUGE one in canada. we put it in a hanging basket with some random crappy nursery dirt. was a 12" pot and hung indoors all year by a sunny window. watered like we watered our african violets. when if is big and it blooms, you will simply be shocked!!!

Yeah, they can get huge and are really easy to care for. Here in Oregon I keep mine inside with moderate light over the winter and put it outside in the late spring in a mostly shady spot. I usually wait until the soil is totally dry and then give it a thorough watering.
