Sexual Attraction to Animals....

If we are truly descendants of apes in the Darwinian/evolutionary chain linkage/lineage, wouldn't it be plausible for humans to have some lingering "normal" levels of sexual attraction to apes....?
Horses and donkeys get it on, and I **think** they are somewhat close in the evolutionary chain - but not the same species..... Subjectively, I don't see how I personally could be sexually attracted to anything besides a human female.... Do other people feel differently about apes that I am just not aware of.....?
>^;;^<
<edit> I fixed the damn title mispelling that was driving me crazy....!?

The theory is that it was spread through bites, not sexual fluid exchange.
How is this spiritual/philosophical?

Is Darwin's theory of evolution not open for philosophical speculative meanderings....?

Seems more like a Science & Nature question to me. Oh, wait, I'm thinking of Trivial Pursuit.

I've heard some biologists point out that a human female's large breasts develeped to be the that way because of their similarity to the enlarged buttocks of a female chimp in heat. It seems somewhat of a stretch to me, but they might be on to something.

No talk/debate/speculation of Darwin's evolution and it's possible nature of sexual reproduction in the philosophical forum....?

If you have no opinion on the topic, then just say you have no opinion....(?)

I was hoping you might elaborate on what you considered philosophical or spiritual about the topic. Never mind.

I apologize if I am misunderstanding your questions/comments....(?)
My point, is that there may be a flaw in the theory of evolution.... That is what I am trying to open the discussion/debate on - if that is not obvious....
If we went from; ape ----> ape-man ----> man It seems plausible that there would still be some level of primal instinctual attraction in us all to procreate with our founding cousins species (once removed)....
It is a taboo subject perhaps, not something I am interested in, just posing the question challenging a theory that people accept as truth....

So the theory of darwinian evolution may be flawed because people don't find apes sexy?
People act like animals often enough, which is evidence to me that our human structure grew out of the ape structure.
Inter-species breeding either could either propagate a new pattern or not; it seems consistent with natural selection. I'm going to bet against any advantages it might have for humans.

I don't know if it is flawed or not, I am just bringing up the possibility and line of thinking.... If we were all once apes, in form and function, then that mental circuitry is still somewhat hardwired somewhere within our minds (is it not).....? We still have the reptilian brain (form and function) in our skulls from when we were supposedly lizards.... Right....? Seems like there would still be traces of that "ghost in the machine" with our relatively close relatives the apes....

Right, I'm not saying that the theory is not flawed. But your reasoning that it may be flawed because of a lack of sexual desire towards apes seems muddled. We don't just have traces of the reptilian and mammalian brain, they are very deeply integrated into our function. We do the same "advance or retreat" act as reptiles, but this should not make us sexually attracted to them...

It sounds like you have some underlying tendencies just dying to be expressed consciously.
Hopefully they haven't revoked your all season pass to the zoo!

When a horse and donkey "get it on", if there is fruit from the union (mule or hinny), that animal is almost always sterile. Just putting in a footnote for ya!

Spiritual....? Do discussions have to be serious ALL of the time....? I thought it was a reach in a novel direction, I had an idea, I figured "what the hell", and I pitched....

I think it was from playing Donkey Kong thru all of my childhood years.... Subliminal suggestions, perhaps.... Hey, got a quarter I can borrow....?

I didn't know that...! I do remember that they mated a tiger and a lion and created a "liger"(sp?) - which was like 50 times the size of it's parents and would never survive in the wild on it's own - needed LOTS of food.... I don't know if it was sterile or not....
