no mushrooms-bad syringe?

I've grown a few times before, mostly using BRF and the standard PF Tek with good results. Last time I decided to make some sporer prints for future use, and recently used them to inoculate 12 BRF jars. Got them 100% colonized, birthed them and cased them, but nothing happened. I figured that it was because I did a crappy job casing, but I remember reading that someone said it could be because of a bad syringe. Does this make any sense? Why would the cakes get fully colonized but fail to yield anything if it was a bad syringe. I would think that if it was a bad syringe, nothing would happen to the cakes at all. Any thoughts?

They've been in there for like 2 weeks or something. I was just going to pitch them, I figured that if nothing's happened after two weeks and a good cold shokcing that nothing probably will happen.
