Cactus Identification Request

Hi guys,
So my Google lense is giving mixed results. Does anybody know what kind of cactus this is, and more importantly (selfishly ^^) if it is a mescaline containing species?

I don't know what that is, but it sure doesn't look like pachanoi or any mescaline-containing varieties I know of.

Hmmm.... The top result when using Google lense (Google search using a photo I stead of text) comes back with San Pedro...

Yea, don't trust Google lens. Get some opinions from real live cactusheads. The areoles look way off, too bulbous... and the ribs too skinny and recessed. A more in focus picture would be more helpful, but I would say with 92.38% certainty that this is not the droid you're looking for.

Much better pictures! Yes look at how thin those ribs are way too thin for this to be san pedro IMO, even a thirsty one. Here are some healthy specimens of pachanoi for comparison (not mine)

Its easier to learn by seeing... here's a walk through of a garden where he highlights various trichocereus types. si=nBECqT8WGSa0FAIs
I'd recommend starting a Facebook account, just to join local Australian trichocereus groups.

Again, notice how thin those ribs are compared to the examples of known pachanois. Join some trichocereus groups to get familiar with what to look for and maybe make some local acquaintances who can share the fruits of their labor with you.

I definitely will, thankyou.
Lastly, a few years ago I planted some cactus seeds. From memory is was a name that started with T crossed with one that started with B. Tric something and briggsi or something. I completely forgot about them until very recently:

Are these the neglected droids I am looking for?
