Hey yall. Checking my Jack Frost tub today and noticed some color on the surface. Is this a bad color? This is my first grow so I don’t know what to look out for 100% yet.

Those look ready to harvest? Could be trace spores . Mycelium will bruise blue/black if you harvested that section recently. ect....
Smell anything? any aborts near the area?
Someone with more experience can chime in but the mycelium is pretty resistant to Contams if fully colonized and first flush. If You notice the "dead" section growing i'd be concerned .
Good luck looks like its going well

Yes it should turn greenish if Trich normally but I've had some In a jar + outdoors . but it also grows different then mycelium that just looks off color mycelium if it looks like its growing and eating your mycelium away then its Something.... Trich will out compete the mycelium once it gets hold it beat out some oyster mushrooms i had going in the outdoor pot....

I would harvest those sooner next time the mycelium can bruise slightly at the end of the first flush in some cases. it may be just around the area you picked it may be a dry area/stressed area nearby . it may not at all . have the moisture heat humidity everything dialed so its just ready for round 2.... but out of the tubs i did you it's best to rehydrate leaving them longer = worse of quality once they drop spores it also tells the mycelium I've done my job time to move on or wait..... pick earlier then spore drops right before veils break you don't loose any weight and the next flush comes in nice and good.
Im not super experienced but. There aren't any benefits to waiting till veils are full broken ... in fact there can be cons...
Dunk it send it good luck.
also it looks like there's only a inch of sub+spawn there or less ... Mushrooms are 90% ish water, really shallow sub can be tricky :P it'll suck the moisture right out. Drying + rehydrating constantly can cause bruising . there is a sweet spot . the first ones you fuss and fret over... but they are best left alone. you'll have more then you know soon :P

looks like a bruise from drying out from pushing out all those shrooms. more than likely that, if it doesn't expand its just bruising. harvest and water up

This is my assessment as well. Looks pretty dry from the closeup pics and definitely blue in my eyes. When you harvest which looks like will be pretty soon id heavily mist the substrate afterwards for a day or 2 or you can soak it for a few hours as well.
