many monotubs and lighting

Theoretical question but I ask for research anyway.
Lets say you had 20 tubs in various stages of growth. You intend to install 6500k LED lights directly over the top of the tubs.
At some point you end up putting in a lot of lights, extension cords, switches, etc. You start to wonder if the lights are going to impact the electric bill or if you are building a fire trap. Also, what if they all needed harvest at the same time
Would you install enough lights to light up all the tubs or only say 5 or 10 at a time with the remainder getting whatever residual ambient light available?

I canβt answer your question, but just wanted to point out that extension cords should only be used for temporary applications.

Temporary is somewhat subjective. I've done temporary fixes in my shop that have lasted for years and to this day but yeah, don't OD on the draw of extension cords unless you are close by all the time.

Electric concerns certainly being valid, for the sake of discussion, lets assume all electrical work will be performed by a state licensed contractor to current code specifications.

the total wattage would be very small still when you consider maybe with LED lighting you would have maybe total of about 5w per tub, so let's call it 150w to give a massive overhead
150w is nothing friend, chances of starting a fire with this level of draw on any modern wiring is almost nil IMHO, whether or not you have a bunch of extension cords looking like spiderman's lair wouldn't make a damn bit of difference, but of course that should be avoided as the wiring of LED lights is so simple and safe a five year old could do it
such a setup running twelve hours a day is not going to impact your bill much more than 100 bucks a year I would bet, dependent on your local prices of course
all just my two cents

Lots of help going on and (sincerely) much appreciated but, I'm trying to find out if you had 20 or 30 tubs, would you chose to light them all or only the 5 or 10 that were the closest to harvest?
While lighting is beneficial to mushroom growth (although clearly not photosynthesis), does it make a disproportionately greater impact close to harvest or does it give even benefit through the complete cake development?
AKA, would it be a waste to light the cake prior to pinning?

light them all from spawn I reckon, but I have not grown in the way you describe personally. And the waste is tiny... if any exists, you are talking about pennies. If you are growing so many tubs it won't matter if you spend a few pennies more or less to grow a fuckton of mushrooms. Light is beneficial for all stages of growth, I can't talk to the chronological impact of when the lighting is delivered, I am not a scientist lol and haven't tested that
if you are worried about wattage then light several tubs with a single light source perhaps. I'm not sure why you are trying so hard to scrimp and save on the lighting, it's cheap as dirt already
