How oftern should I ISO spray my SAB?

So I usually make the agar plates in one day (boil and pour). And then the day after I inoculate them with MS or with A2A transfers.
I usually just let the Agar plates sit in my SAB over the night. Best not to move them.
So I'm wondering when I start inoculating the day after, would you guys remove the SAB and spray it down with ISO? Or would you just start working again in the SAB without moving it?
What I've been doing is to just reach into the SAB, give it a little spray from within (without lifting if from the table), let it sit for a few minutes, and then get to work with inoculating.

Why spray iso in the SAB at all? Maybe just wipe it down the wall and your tools/jars before setting it up. Water with a little drop of soap works sprayed a few minutes before working is fine to keep the particulates down. ISO is just a fire hazard. Still air is is why it works, not sanitizing the air.

I do it once when setting up my SAB for working, mainly because it makes me feel better and I like the smell.

I dont spray anything inside the SAB. It turbulates the air, which is what you dont want.

I mist the sides, floor and air with slightly soapy water before beginning work, and allow several minutes for the air to settle. The idea is that the moistened surfaces will help trap particulates and make it harder to stir them up with slight movements.
Success rates for a SAB when properly utilized can be quite high. Making slow and deliberate motions, using good sterile technique, making sure the arm holes are big enough, and making sure the air in the room is still all seem much more important than spraying ISO in it.
I often use a flame to sterilize tools very near my SAB as well, and I am not too keen on having my arms inside of a potential 110qt fuel air explosive device while an open flame inches away.

yeah i stopped spraying my SAB all together. sometimes i’ll spray it down through the arm holes with just tap water when i initially set it up but lately i’ve even been skipping that. i think other posters are right about the air in the room being still & your technique being more important. if it helps you feel better about your SAB work though, then do it. i still wipe off my jars/plates with ISO at the beginning since i’m directly handling them

I stopped using iso alcohol cause the smell was starting to bother me. I switched to Hydrogen peroxide spray. I usually spray once before i start work and any times after when i need to remove my hands from the SAB.

Besides the vapor, H2O2 also has the added benefit of not turning the arm holes of your SAB into jets of blue flame while your sitting right in front of them.

I'm with Brian, never is my go to solution
but if I am doing actual cleaning of the SAB, then sure I clean with iso, maybe once every two months, if that
physics not sterility, is how the SAB operates in my limited understanding
I run dry, no towel on the table. I like the idea of sticky wet walls catching anything drifting in air currents, but I can't have the turbulation of a spray bottle being used, so I don't

I´m quite surprised how well this SAB concept works without going into great lengths with sterilizing the walls etc.
Thanks for the input, I´ll switch to not spraying at all, and see if my contamination rate will change!
