Never let your dog get at your stash 2

Looks like my dog does not know when to put the pipe down.

Before anybody sends me any death threats, I am just kidding. Poor guy just got back from the vet and had to have several teeth extracted, they put him on some pretty heavy anesthesia and the poor guy couldn’t even walk. I had to carry him home and hold onto until he sobered up

Lol... little guy looks so toasted.
I dope my dog when there's thunderstorms these days. Much better experience for him and so much less stress and drama. Valium and Gabapentin, just flies away to the happy doggy place in his mind.

One time, over ten years ago, my buddies and I all ate some booms while my parents were out of town. We were all having fun except one of us who was already hesitant on eating any, but went ahead anyway and about an hour afterwards was having the worst day trip ever. He wound up heading to the bathroom and throwing up profusely trying to get the fuckers out of his GI tract to stop tripping.
When I went into the bathroom and found him in the middle of this, well, I also found my dog! The bastard had his face right in that toilet boil next to dude while he was throwing up, eating all of the stomach matter with zeal, which included some of the undigested shrooms.
Needless to say my dog tripped balls, he seemed to understand that he'd made a mistake by getting into that particular indulgence. He went upstairs and laid on the bed kinda nodding his head and looking quickly in random directions occasionally. After a couple hours he was seemingly having a bit of fun, albeit confused a little and skittish, ever since then he and I have always had a special connection from that day.
Now I never would just feed an animal psychedelic drugs, but it was extremely interesting to experience, especially with the way it happened. Super funny. Damn dog!

A couple months ago my pet toad snatched a little skinny mushroom out of my fingers. It was fresh.
I had to leave for a hour or so and when I got back he was just chilling in his pool. I was worried cuz he’s so small but he seemed fine.
One time when I was a kid, my moms yorkie ate almost a whole quarter bag. Little dude weighed 5 pounds. He ate probably about six grams of one of the first bags of good chronic that I’d ever gotten my hands on.
Well when I was a kid would have to get my bathroom real steamy so my mom couldn’t smell the weed. ( yes I thought that worked! Ha ha) anyway while I was getting my bowl and lighter together my dog ate most my stash! He had that same look for two days! Lol

OK, just one more, after he sobered up, nothing he likes better than to cuddle with his sister. I don’t know which one is cuter.

His ears are so huge, you could stick him on the bow of a boat for power if you ran out of fuel.

On a serious note, I imagine the trip might be fine or even good for them, but all mushrooms are poisonous to dogs, along with a bunch of other stuff we can eat, so look into it, and take your dog to the vet if he eats your shrooms. Just tell um they were regular mushrooms. Dogs will probably be ok but you don't want to take chances.

Not true, dogs have the same tolerances to mushrooms as us.
Some dogs deliberately sniff out and eat magic shrooms. Apart from the expected effects nothing untowards happens.
Of course our doggos have got poor computer skills though and can't check on the ID forum whether or not they have the shrooms they are looking for, and like us will be poisoned by amanitas, galerinas, inocybes, etc.

He's right, I got them mixed up with all the other stuff like onions, avocado, grapes, and a few others.
My dog was a vigan, and I had to make his food, and I must have heard something about mushrooms a long time ago, but it's still good to look up, because a lot of people don't know about some of the hidden dangers.
I was only vigan because I don't believe in factory farmes. I've slaughtered lots of animals, and would just as soon bite out their throat and eat them raw, I just don't believe in being inhumane and letting them suffer before I eat them.
I've studied lots of edible wild plants and have lived on nothing except what I could gather from the woods, but I never study poisonous plants, because I made the mistake of getting them confused one time.
I guess you're dog will be just fine if he eats your stash. Trip or no trip.
It's the vet that gets your dog high that you have to blame.

Mind elaborating and sharing the story? The experience could be really helpful to people on here, learn from someone else's mistakes you know.

It's a cool experience, and I have lots of crazy stories. I've bicycled across most of the country as a minimalist nomad, built log cabins with old hand tools and natural materials, all kinds of forgotten crafts like that. Even built a couple house boats from scratch.
But this story isn't that interesting.
I just read a book on poisonous plants and remembered seeing a picture of an elephant ear plant.
I was just out and about and saw an elephant ear plant and the picture in the book popped in my head and I was thinking I saw it in another book about edible wild plants......so I don't read about poisonous plants anymore because I just have them all floating around in my head and can't remember which ones are poisonous and which ones are ok to eat.
I know right away that it was no good because my throat felt like it had little needles in it, but I only took a nibble, because I was unfamiliar with that plant. It wasn't too unpleasant, but definitely felt it. I was mostly worried about my throat swelling shut, but I was fine.
All plants have a method you can follow to figure out if they are safe to eat, except for mushrooms. They are the only thing the test can't safely be used.
I skipped a couple of steps of the test that day because I thought it was safe. The test would have told me they were poisonous before I ever put it in my mouth.
Most poisonous plants won't hurt you much, but over time they cause all kinds of different problems.
Plants have a lot of variation on how they can cause problems.
Also, if you ever want to live on them, it's completely possible, especially if you have rabbits, because their liver is the only food you can live off of, without getting any nutritional deficiency. It has everything you need. But the problem you will run into is, there is plenty of verity of plants to choose from, but only some will be in abundance at any given time, so you end up eating a lot of the same thing. Also, gathering and processing will take a lot of time out of your day. But the food is definitely out their if you know what to look for.

It may actually have been little needles. In this video people skin-test various poisonous plants, eventually taking one (Fish tail palm) under a microscope and finding the skin irritant is actually little needles - microscopic spikes that splinter into the skin.
Here's a screenshot from the microscope slide. Scary!
