Would sclerotia absorb caffeine (or other drugs) from grain spawn?

I recently started growing some sclerotia producers, Tampanensis and Mexicana. The rye berries recipe I used for this called for replacing half the grain soak water with strong coffee. I was wary to do this however, as I'd recently quit coffee and I didn't know if some of that caffeine might end up in the stones.
I understand that the amount of caffeine would be negligible to none in the fruits. But sclerotia are hardened mycelium found directly in the spawn. So is there a chance a sclerotia might absorb some of the caffeine? If I used something besides coffee like chamomile tea, could it be possible for the sclerotia to absorb some of the calming properties from that instead?

Im not certain. Every now and then I'll hear about a cultivator putting coffee in their grain soak, but I don't do it. I don't think there's any scientific proof that it does anything.

'chamomile tea,'
Yes, it's possible that any growing plant or fungus can absorb materials in the growing medium such as soil or substrate. But don't interfere with the growth of the sclorotia with chamomile. If you want to drink chamomile, drink chamomile, but adding chamomile to the sclorotia substrate, will interfere chemically with the growth process.
Just use Water.
