Is it worth the risk?

Visibly? Or do mushrooms not fruit from contaminated spawn? And If so, are they safe to eat? I think you know what I'm getting at.

They can fruit from contaminated spawn, if they look normal then they are fine. If the shroom itself is covered in mold then you may want to pass.

Mycotoxins can definitely contaminate fungi grown on contaminated substrate.

Well this guy has bacteria (from his other posts). Its safe to eat fruits that come from a substrate that had bacteria. As for toxins associated with molds, thats out of my expertise.
Some molds are safe and we eat them regularly.

I'm not an expert but I believe with these toxins you have to consume a large quantity before it becomes acutely dangerous.

Then why do people throw out contaminated spawn? Sorry for the dumb questions, I'm literally pasteurizing the substrate and can not decide wether to save my sub or spawn. Yes i know I’ve been told to toss it, but I’ve been told to keep it as well. What would you do if your life depended on these fuckers and needed them fruiting in 2 weeks?

Because it leads to more contamination.

I told you it had bacteria not that it needed to be tossed. We toss stuff when is has mold, so we can limit the spores in our house.
If your life depends on these shrooms tho, youre done for.
Even if it fruits, yields will be bad.

Blind? Nah. Also, the odds of poisoning yourself with contaminated mushrooms is extremely low. The acute toxicity LD50 is like 10 mg/kg in rats. Youd have to eat a handful of some straight-up moldy shit for that to happen. As for chronic toxicity, well youre probably poisoning yourself right now with god knows what
