I have a question for you regarding the PF slurry

I'm trying this Tek for the first time slurry with a PF cake. it states in the Tek ,that you can do up to a hundred quart jars inoculated with 1pf cake. I'm confused because in the instructions it tells you to take one PF cake and put it into half a pint of water into a pint jar and blend it with the PF cake which makes a little less than a full Pint. and it tells you to put a tablespoon in each jar to inoculate. there's only 32 tablespoons in a pint I don't understand how I can get a hundred tablespoons out of a pint to inoculate 100 jars do I add more water I don't understand and I need some help please I've got everything ready to go on this now 1 PF cake already Blended and the other one is backup just in case I have any problems. Thank you so much for any help

seems you've answered your own question. I always thought his estimates seemed a little high. if there's only 32 tablespoons in a pint, thats how many there are.
You really have 100 jars you can knock at once anyway?

Not a hundred but I have 60 I guess with the two cakes that I have that makes 64 I'll just have to add more water to my slurry.

damn. I'd consider bags if I was working with that many jars.
Best of luck.

I did about 35 jars give or take around christmas with a 125mL PF jar. I used more water than I normally would to stretch it further so the colonization was a bit slower, but still everything I did then is colonized now except a couple bacterial jars that stalled
Basically, yeah adding extra water will work, just likely slow down colonization times as opposed to using a really thick slurry.
If you have one you can let sit for a while it will grow like an LC, thickening up the mycelium.

I'm working with both right now (I have 150 quart jars) and honestly I don't like bags that much. I can do twice as much grain in the PC at a time, but that's about the only positive thing for me using bags.
Preferences I guess. I have a hard time doing a good proper visual inspection of the bags, they are harder for me to inoculate, seems like more room for error.

totally agree. I have only tried them a few times and it just seems like something that only people with a flowhood can really use well.
Just thought I'd mention it since because some people seem to love em.

Thanks for your input everybody yeah I haven't even tried to grow bags. I'm sticking with the jars for right now go with what I know works and if I add more water like I said I should be able to get a 64 tbsp amount of slurry and I need 60 jars so that'll work.I guess somebody just wasn't doing the math on that Tek but but seems like a great Tek so if it works I'll be stoked thanks for all your help guys peace pot and microdot!!!
