Growth on agar, not sure if mycelial. Microscope pics included.

I have a PDA plate with some white growth on it that looks like mycelium to the naked eye but when I put it under my scope, I'm not completely sure. Here are some pics at 1000X mag.

As you can see, towards the bottom of the strand, there are long hyphae looking bodies, but upwards there are a lot of small cells that look like yeast forming pseudohyphae. I'm not sure if I should abandon hope or not because this was the one plate of like 8 that had anything resembling mycelium. (edit)Also, here is a picture at 40X mag. I forgot to add this one when I first posted.

Show some normal pics of the plate. It seems fine from what I can see.
If in doubt, just wait. Contams will show up or not.

Ugh. It’s so hard to wait. It’s been like a month since i knocked up these plates and there’s barely anything going on. I think i’m going to have to make a brf jar so i can get some mycelium going and transfer to agar.

That plate is a month old? Time to start over man. If my plates don't put out within a week or two I move on. Don't got time for that.

Sadly yes. I actually made a new plate less than a week ago and knocked it up with some spores i got from drying a drop from a spire syringe on a microscope slide and there’s a small amount of bacterial contam but it seems like i can see a few of the spores germinating. Hopefully, they’ll mate and i’ll have a half decent colony soon.

Are you opening your dishes for the microscope viewings?

I leave them closed for viewing at 40 and 100x but at 400 and 1000x the lenses hit the plastic, so if I want to see it in more detail I crack it open in my SAB and cut out pieces and prepare slides.
