2 Liter Bottle Terrarium Help

Hello. I have had quite an experience trying to grow my first shroomies, you can check out what I mean by viewing my previous threads.
Anywhom, I've had one successful cake colonize, which I then proceeded to place in a temporary terrarium (FYI: more info in previous threads, I'm on my phone so I can't link threads).
Today I took a 2 liter Brisk Tea bottle, rinsed with steaming water for 5 minutes, cut it in half, poked paper clip holes about half an inch apart all around the bottom (about an inch apart around the top half), and thick nail holes up about a quarter inch and spaced out in between the paper clip holes, while the nail holes on the top are apaced out every other paper clip hole. I then put about 6-8 paper clip holes in the lid.
I reused the wet vermiculite from the old terrarium, although some of it had mycelium growing in it (I crushed it up and re-moistened it. I then took a jar lid from a jar I didn't use (it has 4 inoc. holes in it), removed the screwing part, rubbed the lid with isopropal alcohol, dried the piece, and placed it in the middle of the terrarium with the cake on top.
Finally I wrapped packing tape around the part that I cut, as it didn't have "shoulders".
I was wondering if this is an appropriate manner for pinning. What else should I be doing, or should I build something new?
I will upload more pictures to help explain, but for now I am limited as I am on my phone. I will, however, upload one with the holes outlined to help.
Thanks for being patient and reading! Even more thanks to those whom reply with wisdom and good advice! I love you all.

for that a small shotgun fruiting chamber would be optimal...
pinning is triggered by evaporation cause by a lot of FAE....

You want perlite in the fruiting chamber, not vermiculite. Is there a layer of tinfoil or some other buffer between the cake and the vermiculite?

The only thing in between the verm and the cake is the top part of one of my Ball jar lids, whereas in the old terrarium the cake was just sitting on the wet verm. I believe this is why some of the vermiculite actually colonized.

Vermiculite will do the job pretty well for such a small bottle, but for most SGFCs, you are correct.

How would I construct a proper shotgun terrarium without having to buy and useair pumps, tubing, or anything of the sort?
Also, I had five remaining jars that weren't developing much, so I buried 3 (crumbled up) that appeared to have no mycelium growing in it (though they were solid like cakes) in between wet commercial soil that has been in my garden for a while, and hay/straw/grass clippings on top. I watered it all very well.
As for the other 2, they seemed contaminated, so I decided to bury them just for the hell of it. Again, I followed the same procedure as with the other 3 "cakes". I don't expect to be able to consume them, I just love growing shit!
Again, thank you for your replies and advice! I love you all!

a SGFC is just a plastic see through tote with 1/4 inch holes on every side, all six. then 3-4 inches of perlite and its done, you just mist it and fan it 3 times a day

Thank you for your input! However, I do not want to use a tote and/or excessive materials for just one cake.

it can be scaled down to any size. you could use a small 8X8X8 inch rubbermaid and it will work the same just with less perlite!
