Inoculating brown rice bags with agar slices?

Can it be done? I know everyone says to use grain bags/jars for agar slices but the only thing I can use right now is lots of brown rice bags.

How do I go about inoculating the bag? Should I cut a little piece of the colonized agar and slice a little whole in the bag to slide it through and tape it back up immediately? Or is there something else someone can recommend?

you want to do it in a glove box its not gonna be easy and you may get a contamination.. but you need to cut that agar into more then 1 slice so you have more then one inoculation point. is this a bag you purchased online?

How big and how many slices do you suggest to put in each bag if the bags are around the size of a pint jar?

You do not need to pc the brown rice. Brown rice does not carry bacterial endospores like whole grain does.
Im assuming that you ment that you want to colonize whole grain brown rice which is not normally done due to brown rices inability to retain moisture. You could try but the substrate would more then likely dry out before the mycelium has a chance to colonize it.
The "common" way would be to prepare the substrate via the pf-tek and then transfer the wedges to the bags in a glovebox.
Yes, it can be done.

If you do this experiment, please post your findings, I would like to know about doing it with whole grain rice myself...
