Physically preparing for an Ayahuasca trip

I was invited by a friend of mine to join him in partaking Ayahuasca in the next couple weeks. I've heard a few things about "the Purge" required before the trip, that you have to avoid certain foods for some reason. Could I be enlightened as to what I need to do, if anything at all, before the fact?

Google is your friend
Look for MAOI diet and drug restrictions
Reversible MAOI are not long lasting, so not as bad as it says
The purge is not before... But during... Need to read a bit more I think

Well sometimes the purge is before if you can't keep it down ling enough. Reduce it to as little liquid as possible. Like literally a shot glass worth. Also tums helped me. As for the reversable maois my diet is usually breakfast omelettes no meat or cheese day of with cereal. Same meal after the trip. But you gotta look up tyramine foods. And make sure your not taking contraindicated meds.

Well I'm not taking any meds, and I'll remember not to eat any foods containing MAOIs.

You need more research, sorry to say.
Eating food not containing MAOIs won't help you with ANYTHIGN lol.
Here's a list of what not to eat if you're going to be ingesting an MAOI http://deoxy.org/maoidiet.htm
There are lengthier lists out there too, just wanted to get the ball rolling for ya.
PS he said don't eat tyramine high foods. You took that to mean don't eat foods with MAOIs? DEFINITELY RESEARCH

you cant have tyramine either. please do your research, ive read hours upon hours about ayahuasca and i still do not consider myself well informed enough to partake. Please dont jump into ayahuasca as recreation, its a spiritual process that needs a clear conscious. i hate to be cliche but know your body, know your source and know your drug.

honestly, from my understanding, such weak MAOI's as harmalas you don't have to worry about the whole maoi diet. that is only with the synthetic script MAOI's so don't worry about that.
i had my first decent pharmahuasca trip last weekend. incredible visions. about 95 mg of freebase 30 min after 200mg of harmalas....gradually i started to trip and got to a very strong psychedelic state. mandala kolidescopic three dimensional CEVs, psychic mind states. deep life insights. patterns and strong OEVs.
i can say it is very close to mushrooms visually. did not enjoy the feeling of the MAOI's that was always lingering behind the beauty though! not a fan of the harmalas at all. 95 MG freebase was borderline too intense and much more i feel like i would have been in a smoked breakthrough state for several hours
