Conditions: Weather: These beauties fruited at around 70-80F, with a relative humidity of about 50-70%. Rainfall occurred recently. They popped up in a few clusters in my backyard, not singles. The high in temp today was about 90F. I'm appx 30 degrees north of the equator.
Location Found near (in my backyard): Dog dung Herbaceous Flowering Plants Very green grass that I keep watered well (sprinkler system)
Dimensions of largest fruit: 8-10cm Cap across 10cm tall from base to tip 1cm thick stem 8-9cm tall stem
The gills slant upwards nearing the stem, almost going into it. The texture is slimy The mushroom does not bruise when disturbed Lightish-brown tip with white cap Brown gills Very white stem

The pictures aren't all that great. Could be a Psathyrella species.

Sorry for the pictures. The stem was thick, not brittle. So far your guess has been the closest to an answer (from my research as well)

The stem isn't always brittle. You have found Psathyrella.
For example: Psathyrella fusca - not brittle Psathyrella spadicea - not brittle Psathyrella delineata - not brittle
The list goes on forever.
I think you have an a little bit uncommon looking Psathyrella candolleana:
