Shroomery bias against alcohol

So many people seem to think that alcohol is "bad" and pot and life affirming/progresing mushrooms, dmt, and so on are the upper path to human consciousness and develoment so people need to rip on alcohol because of the stupid shit some people do while intoxicated or for whatever reason.. This is a rant because I've been on the shroomery for around 3 years now and I get this bias. Why no love for the drinkers? It's legalk (no respect for legality but it's great for it's easy access) and it's fun so please just let it be. :

I'm not the biggest fan - it dulls my senses and wit and generally leads to thoughtless and later regrettable actions. But I have no bias against anyone who does drink and occasionally I do myself

I don't drink much, but not because it's bad for you. I love smoking cigarettes and we all know that's not good, so that's not the reason. I dont drink because I don't like it. I don't like the taste of most drinks, except Gin, Vodka, and some beers (and even those I dont love), and I dont enjoy being drunk.
For parties, I'd much rather be stoned or tripping on a low dose.

I have noticed this also... I think it's a result of directing the anger from less dangerous drugs being illegal toward the one that is legal instead of the system which makes them illegal in the first place. Imo alcohol is a great drug

If you don't drink to get drunk than it's not so bad. Nothing sounds more refreshing than sitting back with an ice cold beer, and it's certainly respectable if you're into wine and enjoy it for it's refreshing flavors.

I enjoy a good drink. Getting wasted gets lame quickly, but once in a while is fun. On the other hand I've stopped smoking weed for twighead's reason. Quote:

I used to drink like a fish but I quit drinking because it was creating too many problems in my life. I respect that some people can drink responsibly and function, but I cant.

Not to sway your opinion but a ice cold beer of high quality you don't enjoy the taste of it? I know it's an aquired taste with beer, hard liquor-different story- but beer is a wonderful beverage. And with a bit of pot and no paranoia, I'm a happy man.

I love to drink but getting drunk really sucks. It typically pisses me off when I realize that my buzz is turning into that sick feeling of having consumed too much.
When I was in highschool, I thought getting drunk was the whole point. Now I've realized that's it's more of a relaxing effect. I've also already started to notice that the more regularly I drink, the more I want to drink... Seems extremely addictive to me... but i'm the kind of guy who started smoking weed 7 years ago and have hardly missed a day yet.

I drink occasionally, but don't like to because it does kill your body's cells. Most other drugs don't.

The thing is, alcohol is in fact really addictive, with withdrawal symptoms and everything.

I can't connect with people on alcohol like I can when I'm on psychedelics.
When I drink to the point of wanting to have an emotional conversation, I'm at the point where I can't talk properly, and then I don't really want to talk at all.
I'm not hating on alcohol, though. I like drinking and add it in whenever i'm in the mood.
I'm drankin' right now

I like alcohol, but it really is just an intoxicant.
Alcohol has zero potential for personal introspection and growth, whereas weed and mushrooms seem to genuinely help (some) people.

I just don't see alcohol as a worthwhile intoxicant. I used to enjoy drinking because I noticed a decrease in anxiety in social situations and it helped me realize the things I was doing differently sober that held me back from being comfortable and happy around people. After that it turned into drinking to get drunk/for fun. I don't like being hungover the next day and I dislike the decrease in inhibitions I experience. I like being in control of myself for the most part, and sometimes I personally take drinking too far. This is no fun at a party or place where I don't know many people. I like liquor straight, so I often puke towards the end of the night as well which I hate.
I've also noticed that when I sip on ever a single beer my body feels really heavy and I actually get really sore and nauseous. Thats from one beer. I used to down 13 in a night. My body doesn't like alcohol anymore either.
I choose to abstain unless I'm with people I'm comfortable with or feel like getting drunk with my bf fun/wild drunk sex. I haven't gotten drunk in over a year.
Thats why I don't like alcohol.
