Since so much care is needed to prevent contams, right temps, humidity, everything to grow psilocybes, how have they survived for so long in nature? Nature is nowhere near as sterile as our teks, so... whats the deal with that?

Everything that needs to happen in your growing space to produce mushrooms, also needs to happen in a natural environment in order to produce fruitbodies.
That is the reason that outdoor beds are not a guaranteed success.
In all actuality, it is YOU that replicates the outdoor conditions inside. Mother Nature has been doing it for millennium...
EDIT:Oh yeah, your house is also filled with molds and nasties, that do not get blown away by the wind. The crap just builds up in our "boxes", (read; houses).

because a single tray grown by me yields more than 3 acres in cubensis country, and besides you only see the survivors in nature. Try to comprehend that each fruit body produces a shit ton of spores yet walk a field and see how many mushrooms you actually find
*add some more detail to the subject btw please

I am with BrandNewbie on this one. Your house is filled with mold spores and such and it accumulates in large quantities compared to the outdoors where UV rays help destroy much of the spores as well as the addition of frequent air currents which could be compared to one of the number one contamination preventative measures in an indoor grow, and that is frequent air exchange.

indoors we can control everything. Outdoors its up to nature. Still very rare in the wild. Cloning mushrooms from the outdoors ususally leads to contams in which you need to do some plate work.

you would have to work with agar, and separate out the contaminates. all wild mushrooms have to deal with contams, but they were "born" having to deal with them. just like how when you were born you were resistant to the common disease/bacteria around you. but if you go to Africa, you have to get shots for diseases that they have tolerance to.

that was the point I was trying to make, contams still exist in nature. It's just that we make their growing environment OPTIMAL, more so than nature does......by doing this we also make it easier for contams!
