These mushrooms are very soft and red on the top with little cracks. The more mature ones seemed to be forming a cup. They were found on normal suburb lawn in New Jersey. Please help me with every bit of info possible; even hyperlinks. Thanks guys

First we need you to look *very* closely at the surface of the stem (a really good closeup photo would be good). Is there a pattern of tiny raised ridges that resemble a net?
Second, what kind of trees were growing nearby? These mushrooms grow in association with trees. The trees count if the mushrooms were growing closer than the tree is tall. If you aren't any good at tree identification it will be good enough to know if it's an evergreen (pine) type or a deciduous tree (sheds its leaves in fall).
Third, we need you to find some young specimens and tell us what color the tubes are when the mushrooms are young.
Fourth, scratch the tube surface with your fingernail. Does it change color (not just becoming a darker version of the same color)? If so, what color does it change to and does it change fast or slow (slow is more than several seconds).
In a general sense these mushrooms are Boletes. Many boletes are edible (some are among the best mushrooms there are for eating) and some are poisonous.
Happy mushrooming!

First Answer: The stem's surface starts out at a dark brown color and gets ligther (yellow) towards the top. There are some little yellow indents in certain areas of the stem. The inside of the stem is yellow. However, I did not notice any net patterns even when looking very closely. When I go back I'll take a look at some that were not picked.
Second Answer: I will get that answer to you by the end of today.
Third Answer:You do mean the inside of the stem, right? I believe it is yellow but I'll double check today.
Fourth Answer: If I'm right about what the tube is then no.
Since I'm obviously not a very good shroomer can you please post me as much *important* info as possible.

You're looking for reticulation:

The tubes are what the pores on the underside of the cap are made up of. If you pull apart the pores, you will realize that they are composed of hundreds of tiny tubular structures which drop spores in the same manner gills sporulate in agarics.

Ok, thanks. The tubes are still goldish-yellow just like the others. I'll get the rest of the info by the end of today. I scratched the tube and the pores and after about a minute it turns black. Even if you just touch the pores they will turn black. The mushrooms in the pictures had been handled, that is why the some pores were black

Hmmmm... Black isn't a normal color for bolete bruising. Is it possible that the color is actually a dark brown or blue or purple?
Try cutting one in half vertically. Does the flesh inside change color? If so, what color and how long does it take?
Take a tiny piece (smaller than a fingernail) from the edge of a cap and put it in your mouth and chew it for several seconds, then spit it out. Is it bitter? Peppery? Mild?
Happy mushrooming!

the black bruising of the pores mentioned can be seen in the pictures to be brown.
