Apple colored mushrooms

I picked some real nice looking (but small) mushrooms in some Jersey woods. Can I get some help pleas? are they edible? poisonous? magical? type of shroom? As much input as possible would be great. Thanx alot.

Probably a Russula, maybe a Hygrocybe, though those are young, and you will doubtfully be able to get a spore print. Please see the link posted above if you would like further guidance.

I'm not aware of a 'bolotus' genus. There is a genus called 'boletus', but your find is definitely not boletus bicolor. Moreover, boletus bicolor is not a russula, because all russula species are, well, in the genus russula...

Big difference. Russula are agarics- they have gills. Boletus are boletes- they have pores.

i can understand the confusion. the site you linked has a red russula [likewise titled] to the immediate right of thier link for boletus bicolor.
