Like as an alternative to BRF? Yes I have done that and it will work.

Before you start...Do you have a Pressure Cooker and a Dehydrator? I highly recommend getting both!

it's for inoculate the mycelium of agaricus bisporus, I have already tested with wheat alone but it's really very long and wet so I thought to add vermiculite; and apparently it work for you, you boiled the wheat? and vermiculite did you soak it? before sterilization?

Nah I just used wheat bran in place of BRF when I made cakes, but I'm sure if you made bran/sawdust bags that could work for the species you are wanting to grow.

compost your wheat first and then add verm to get the water content just right.

alternatively use some compost and add wheat to it..

agaricus is a secondary decomposer so previously composted substrates are best.

well compost is usually composed of a nitrogen and a carbon. the wheat would be the carbon so you would need a nitrogen source like horse poo or  similar.

I think the ratio should be something like 40% nitrogen to 60% carbon. but for hobby making, if it were me, i would make my compost like i do with kitchen scraps, add straw and turn it every other day or so until i have a nice black substrate.

pasteurize if your pile isnt big enough to heat the center to pasteurization temps and inoculate with Agaricus spawn.

BUT another way is to grow a primary composter on the straw first, such as oysters or shiitake. After the first mushroom has done its work the straw nutrients will be more available to a secondary like Agaricus. This is called species sequencing and is worth researching.
