alright, first off i live in North Florida close to hte alabama line. it just got done raining (not much rain) but i have found some mushrooms that popped up in my backyard. a week ago i found the same looking mushrooms, i tested bleeding and bruising on them but found no luck in getting them to bruise. but the ones i ofund today bruise black on the stalk and when you break hte cap, where the injuries are they instantly turn a dark beautiful blue. i have done cubes and know that those turn blue no matter what, these mushrooms have yellow porous like gills. brown and orangish brown on the stalk. and feel like a thin thin powder coating on the cap. anyone haver any ideas? i will have pictures in a couple of minutes.

maybe, the the area i found it in had alot of dead twigs from oak trees, some grass and other timber laying around. ground was very very moist aswell, and i do believe there are gyms that grow around that place aswell, the mushrooms i mentioned i had previously found, there were caps that curled upwards sorta and had bright yellow gills with greenish blue bruising but they were really mushy

Your welcome, I recommend waiting for a T.I to confirm they are edible. I don't want to be responsible for a trip to the E.R.

Hi Mid-Day-Tripper,
Some boletes are pretty toxic. I would avoid any that stain blue. If you want to eat them this ID request isn't fit for purpose, take much better shots and establish the species so that you don't poison yourself.

Is that blue staining in the second picture? It looks like a cap was cut in half and turned blueish to me but I am color blind so I don't really count.

What you have there is a type of bolete...to figure out which one, we'll need a proper ID request. Remember: just because it bruises blue doesn't mean it's active. In fact, if it's a bolete, it's NOT active. But there are plenty of good edible boletes out there. Here's the Edibility Rules for Boletes by Michael Kuo.
