P. Sub cultivation first attempt
    #15146435 - 09/28/11 10:11 AM (12 years, 5 months ago)

Gday to all South Australian hunters, cultivators and psychonauts, and anyone else out there in the big wide world.

I simply dropped a few kilos of straight freshly chipped pine bark into a dark, damp spot in the yard in June (its now late September). Added corrugated cardboard covered in sub spores as well as maccas bag from hunting into the centre of the small mound. I have been checking the site for growth but haven't even seen any myc in and around the top layer at all.

Today, however, I found fruiting growth that has inverted cup-like caps similar to the colour of sub caps, no gills, no stem, what could be called dried bruising, seen these cup mushrooms hunting but these are as if they are mutated subs, perhaps some other spores besides sub spores got in there?

I will also post this link in the identification forum for identification. This thread refers more to the cultivation methods and to give other cultivators more knowledge.

Here is a pic of the sight

Hope you get some subs up next season.:mushroom2:

If you post some good pics of that fungi on an ID thread some smart cookie will no doubt ID it.

I have had vgood results by covering my patches and tubs with cardboard, the myc will grow quicker and it helps in retaining moisture.:bigjoint:
