No more magic mushrooms in UK

The Sun January 19, 2005 MAGIC mushrooms will be made a Class A drug under new laws unveiled yesterday.
The Governments Drugs Bill makes it an offence to possess them even in their natural state.
Previously, the mushrooms were only illegal if they had been prepared for use - typically by drying them out or putting them in tea.
The move follows a huge rise in the sale of magic mushrooms, which naturally produce hallucinogenic chemicals.
Home Secretary Charles Clarke said: 'The Bill will end uncertainty by making sure all magic mushrooms are Class A drugs, whatever form they are in.'
The Bill will also see longer sentences for dealers operating near schools or using kids as couriers.

That sucks, but it does make sense. I was wondering when they were going to put a law on mushrooms. And, so they did; yesterday.

I think he meant it made sense as it he expected it to happen. It was inevitable, but it still really really sucks. I feel for you everyone in the UK.

I noted this a while back a few years ago when the many6 shops began selling the shrooms.. It was only a matter of time. Since the early 1970s, all UK citizens could pick and eat magic shrooms without any problem. This is recorded in my news section at my website. I said that the dealers would ruin it for the general population with their greed. Greed ruins everything. Why do you think all the Spanish galleons sank off the coast of Florida. The ships were too heavy with the natural resources they stole from the Indians. Their greed sank their ships and the greed of the shroom sellers in Great Britain ruined it for everyone else in the UK who hunted them without a hassle. And I have seen the exhorbitant prices which the UK charges for a dose.. Way more than they cost in Amsterdam. And three to four times more than someone here in the PNW would get them for. Shame on those who sought monetary gain over the whole of the UK free without hassle gone bye-bye and no no more feree use of the shrooms. mj This is my opinion and it does not reflect the opinion of the Shroomery mj

This is a sad day indeed. I never bought mushrooms from shops (as mj says the prices are stupid) but I could pick shrooms in well known fields without worrying about being hassled by the cops. I really hope that the cops don't go after people who are picking mushrooms from the wild because most of the spots around my area are very well known and frequented by many pickers on any one day. Having pigs sniffing around will ruin the relaxation aspect of picking shrooms which I find to be enjoyable and a good state of mind to be in to start a trip. Being paranoid about getting arrested is definatly not a good way to start a trip.

I always thought that the dry verses wet verses "prepared" verses "unprepared" was a bunch of bull.
This same controversy is happening all over Europe - Germany is getting ready to do what England has just done.
Probably the Netherlands will follow and all of Europe.
What was sacred for thousands of years is now becoming desacredized - taboo
Are you surprised? Not me.

So what it means is the return of SPORE PRINTS flying around the world.
Spore syringes will be a growing problem for the authorities but prints are easy to send anywhere in a simple letter. A spore print in the mail got me off and running full tilt back in the 70's.
No problem. If anyone wants the magic shrooms, the knowledge is fully set up.

The mushrooms have been illegal in Germany for years since the early 1990s. Gartz almost went to jail and almost lost his job at the university there for selling cultures to people in Germany and Amsterdam in the early 1990s. I have documentaiton from Gartz concerning their illegality. And remember that Psilocybe cubensis is not illegal in the State of Florida, however, there n are not 300 shops selling them to people either. The chemicals itn he shrooms are illegal under federal law in Florida but the fresh shroms are not. Just don't sell them and no one will hassle you. mj

Seriously, when people become greedy, bad things happen.
