This is really scaring the shit out of me.No joking around,ok?
My sister has an African Clawed frog(female).We know its' female because of the fact that its layed a couple clutches of infertile eggs.
The eggs would just sit in the bowl and rot until we threw them out.Well this last clutch of eggs I took out and put in a petri dish and,well you've probaly guessed,I fertilized them with my own semen. The fucking things are developing!! WTF! I don't know if I should flush them down the toilet or what. No one else at home knows about my little experiment.This is really scaring the fuck out of me! Would it be murder if I just flush them?

can that frog fertilize its own eggs... like take the semen from another frog and hold on to it? if not its rather strange how the genes could splice... maybe cause we were once amphibious? humans dont know too much about genetics and biology? wouldnt be murder, might be kind of interesting to see what happened though. i wouldnt worry about it too much, sounds kind of cool.

Ok, I never said that I was "arroused" That would be just plain sick.I did what I did in the name of science.
It just really freaks me out and it seems like everyone knows even tho theres no way they could. Like today my aunt asks me, "So (Put my name here) how many kids do you plan on having when you grow up?" I just could'nt help thinking about the six tadpoles in my closet downstairs. Are these thoughts going to come up everytime I get into a conversation about kids? And how the hell can I bass fish now using a live frog as bait?These and so many more questions come up.
I hope they like the goldfish flakes I'm feeding them,if not I'm sure I'll hear about it one of these days.

Bullshit. The only problem is the fact that humans and frogs don't have the same number of chromosomes. I think what you're seeing is the eggs reacting to being violated by you.

Your frogs are probably hermaphrodites. They could turn that way if you have polluted tap water in your area.

Hybridization is not a possibility.

The most far-out thing I could think of was that the presence of sperm tricked the eggs into cloning themselves- all the frogs will be female, and copies of the mother.
I think the African Clawed Frog is diploid meaning it has 2 copies of each chromosome, therefore the egg cells allready contain all the genetic material required to develop.

We only use distilled water for the frog,we have hard water..etc,. Fuck, you guys are'nt helping at all. I feel like I should be burning down my house and salting the earth and its like you people don't get it.
