how you can see, isn't exactly a beauty thing....but works really good, i count only 2 contaminations on agar since i built it (6 months) , and both not for a faulth of the hood , but of the grower

Anno, that is looking very nice, and looks easy to build. The hole at the back ,is this where you mounted the blower? And what is resting at the back of the hole? a prefilter? what kind of prefilter did u use? And excuse my ignorance , but what does 300PA stands for? thanks, Paddo

>The hole at the back ,is this where you mounted the blower? I use a axial duct blower which is conected to this hole using a tube.
>And what is resting at the back of the hole? a prefilter? Yes,
>what kind of prefilter did u use? a simple furnace filter.
> what does 300PA stands for?
300Pa means 300 Pascal. 100 000 Pa = 1 bar , it?s a pressure unit.
The filter has a resistance which represents itself as a pressure drop at the filter, the so called static pressure.
most HEPAS have a static pressure of 250Pa, and the prefilter is assumed to have 50Pa.
This means that the blower must be able to deliver the required amount of air against this combined static pressure of 300Pa.

Ok thanks! If you could just help me out with this one : I just orderd this Hepa filter : HPA-44 610x457x68 . capacity m3/h frontspeed at 0,45 m/s : 400 Would this be good one? This one the salesman put in backorder for me because he didnt had it on stock. But he did had this one in stock: HPA-43 305x610x68. capacity m3/h frontspeed at 0,45 m/s : 300 Could i use this one in the same construction as u made? thanks again, Paddo.

I would go with the first one. I have a setup with the smaller one, but I would be more happier with the first one since it?s 15 cm higher.
How much is it?
>HPA-44 610x457x68 . >capacity m3/h frontspeed at 0,45 m/s : 400
>HPA-43 305x610x68. >capacity m3/h frontspeed at 0,45 m/s : 300
Hmm, these data don?t seem quite right. According to Stamets, if you want 100 ft/min (0,50 m/s)frontspeed, then you need a blower with 417 m3/h for the bigger and 260 m^3/h for the smaller blower, if you make the calculation with the efective are, taking into acount that there is a 2.5 cm border at each side of the filter. Did you also find out the statical pressure of the filters?

Thanks,
